The domestic Muscovy duck is one of those rare breeds of duck that is native to the Americas. Mexico, to be specific. This duck didn’t develop domestically either. Instead, it is a wild duck breed that somebody domesticated at some point. The domestic Muscovy duck is now extensively raised throughout the United States.
Temperament is very important to us when it comes to our Muscovy stock. All of our ducks are very friendly. If you are wanting fresh eggs, you are in luck with this breed. Female hens can lay up to 130 eggs per year!
If you ever want to try fresh, organically raised duck meat, these ducks are the perfect breed for you! The drakes can get up to 10-15 lbs and dress out to a great amount of meat. Start your own self-sufficient farm!
Muscovys are excellent foragers. You can save on feed by letting them free-range and find their own food.
